In 2017, there was record 98 shark attacks across the world were reported. Below are few things you must know in case you survive a Shark Attack.

  • If you are planning to go to beaches you must check the shark safety records before you plan to swim, In case you see any danger try to stick near the beach and with a lifeguard.

  • Sharks usually gather when they see food so avoid swimming near fishing boats or near seal.

  • Avoid swimming during bad visibility because you will not be able to see sharks in the bad water.

  • Don’t splash too much. Sharks may associate you with injured species.

  • Try to swim in group’s coz maximum of time sharks attacked a lone swimmer.

  • Avoid going in the water at night.

 

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU ENCOUNTER A SHARK

If you see a shark:


In case you see a shark don’t panic and quickly alert swimmers swimming near you and get out of the water as soon as possible. If you see that shark is coming straight towards you then try to be vertical in water because if you will be vertical you will be less appealing to a shark because Sharks mostly hunt for the mammals swim in horizontal such as seal. You see any boat near you shout loud and call for help.

 

 

If you sense a shark:


If you sense a shark or feel that something passes near you immediately get out of the water without any inspection. Sharks may inquire you before attacking you; even some victims said that they don’t even realize that they have been bitten by the shark for few minutes after the attack.

Aim for vulnerable areas

If you have been attacked by the shark try to attack its sensitive areas. Try attacking directly on eyes and gills. In case you don’t have any equipment to attack use your fist and attack but it’s very dangerous to mouth.

 

Treat any bites

if you are bitten from Shark try to stop blooding by placing a cloth and immediately get out of the water and call for help and medical and warn other swimmers and inform lifeguard too.

 

 

WHAT TO DO IF YOU WITNESS A SHARK ATTACK

Alert the lifeguard


If you see any victim off shark attack inform the lifeguard immediately if you don’t find any lifeguard near you then try to rescue the victim by reaching there with a boat.

Get the victim out


Get the victim out of the water as soon as possible. Keep the victim still and try to stop the bleeding by putting pressure on the wound. You can tie a piece of cloth on the wound until the medical arrive.
